The Creative Media Strategist at the Nebraska Governance and Technology Center will support content created as output of innovative research in the forms of podcasts, video, and others, specifically including the center's podcast Tech Refactored, and management of existing projects. The position will support the executive director and director in showcasing the center's mission and goals, as well as helping to develop new and creative ideas for reaching stakeholders. This position is responsible for managing or performing the technical aspects of audio and visual recording, editing, producing, and includes oversight of specialty contractors brought in to support the center's research mission. This position is responsible for the strategic positioning and creative representation of the center's research portfolio. Content will also include some general communication (social media, website, and newsletters) and marketing pieces, which requires direct coordination with the college's Director of Marketing, who will provide oversight and approval for branding guidelines. This role requires an organized and detail-oriented individual that is comfortable working in a dynamic environment with a hybrid-team (remote and in-person). This individual should also have a deep interest in the Center's subject matter, along with their technical skills.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, fine art, journalism, or related field. Three (3) years of professional experience in the fields of marketing, communications, public relations, or design. Demonstrated experience with podcast planning and production; photo, video, and audio editing; and HTML and/or Drupal. Must possess excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills necessary to successfully interact with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members. Ability to work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment in a remote environment if necessary. Independent judgment and application of established policies and procedures. Proficiency with basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office. Proficiency working in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and comfortable working in other Adobe Creative Suite products. Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and efficient and possess excellent time-management and organizational skills.
At least five (5) years of professional experience in the fields of marketing, communications, public relations, or design. Experience applying branding guidelines and working within a large organization. Knowledge of video content creation, emerging technology, and security practices. Photography and visual design skills. Demonstrated progressive leadership in marketing, communications, public relations, or design.
