Minimum Qualifications to be eligible to interview:
Associate or Baccalaureate Degree of Nursing awarded from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).
Nursing Education:
- Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing Preferred
- Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire.
Certifications and Licensure:
- Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license by 1 week before start date
- Current BLS certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network branch of AHA by the start date
Department Specific Requirements:
- BLS must not expire during the TTP Program.
Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Individualized Orientation Schedule of 24weeks:
- The intended start date is August 29, 2022 (external & organizational internal transfer)/September 5, 2022 (ONA internal transfer). Note that this date may be adjusted based on operational needs.
- Residency Program and Specialty Fellowship Program Schedule: About 24 weeks.
- Group-based, self-directed, and preceptorship shifts are integrated weekly for up to 40 hours per week.
- Group-based sessions: Monday-Friday variable times 0700-17:30 up to 8hrs per session
- Self-directed shifts: Monday-Friday up to 12hrs per day, variable per week.
- Preceptorship shifts: Assigned based on preceptor team schedules during Monday-Sunday 8, 10, or 12hour shifts starting at 0645, 0845, 1045,1845. Transition to hired shift is based on unit readiness and the completion of group-based sessions.
- Cross Functional orientation to Circulating Nurse and Scrub Nurse role.
