The Role: Communications Director, S&P Global Ratings The Grade/Level: (relevant for internal applicants only): 12 The Location: NYC, NY
Define and execute communications strategy for analytical thought leadership
Partner with analytical leadership to develop media messaging and tactical approach for prioritized content
Evaluate potential reputational issues, develop and execute the appropriate response for those detected
Closely monitor news in the finance and business industries to identify media opportunities and issues
Support spokespeople at in-person and virtual events with media presence
Develop close relationships with key reporters and editors at top tier news outlets in the USA and Latin America
Manage media monitoring, distribution and contacts database tools
Oversee metrics tracking for Global Communications team to showcase performance
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Finance, or related field
10+ years of related work experience in public/corporate affairs, communications, public relations
Knowledge of and established relationships with top tier financial and business media outlets in the US
Self-disciplined, focused leader who can operate successfully in both in-person and remote setting
Collaborative, team-oriented professional who can operate independently
Proven, highly effective communication skills
Experience in interacting with executive management on strategic decisions
Comfortable presenting to and interacting with senior leaders
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables
Leads the development of effective networks of internal and external relationships
Maintains effective working relationship with global counterparts, to ensure awareness and alignment of critical initiatives
Exceptional team player
Possesses the negotiation and diplomacy skills required to manage sensitive matters
Desirable knowledge and good relationships established with key media outlets in the Latin America region
Desirable multilingual capabilities in Spanish and Portuguese
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $97,200 to $175,650. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
