The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business seeks an Executive Director for the Office of Career Management to provide overall management and strategic direction for a team of eighteen full-time professionals and twenty student employees. Reporting to the Fisher College of Business Dean, the Executive Director for the Office of Career Management will provide guidance to the office’s three directors who report directly to the Executive Director. These directors and their teams are aligned around recruiting operations and technology, undergraduate student career management, and graduate student career management.

The Executive Director engages OCM team in developing annual and multi-year strategies for program and service offerings, human capital needs and overall resource allocations to ensure ongoing excellence in student employment outcomes and employer engagement. As a key member to the leadership team this role closely collaborates with the Graduate Programs Office (GPO) and the Undergraduate Office to build relationships with current, prospective, and former students. This includes supporting the units’ admission goals, curriculum enhancement activities, orientation programs, rankings and overall student and alumni engagement within the college.
The ideal candidate will manage the unit’s budget in collaboration with the Executive Director for Finance and Administration, including collaborating on revenue generation through career events and corporate sponsorships as well as overall management of college and university allocated funds supporting the OCM. Thisposition is called on to Collaborate with multiple leaders within the college in support of stakeholder engagement: executive education, multiple Centers of Excellence, academic department chairs, advancement teams including the alumni relations office, marketing and communications, diversity and inclusion office, global programs office, Dean’s senior leadership team, Dean’s Advisory Council, and others.
To assist in advancing the department this role will oversee robust data collection processes and a data insights team to provide semi-annual impact reports and annual reports highlighting student employment outcomes and innovative programs and services. Key collaborations will take place with marketing and communications team to ensure a broad distribution of reports to stakeholders through multiple mediums and channels.
To support the growth of the OCM, the selected candidate will actively participate in regional, national, and international professional/industry associations and seeks leadership roles when possible. This role participates in college and university initiatives and committees as requested. In addition, the Executive Director supports similar opportunities and engagement for the OCM team.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
Master's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 10 years leadership experience in career management; Experience in managing a large team of high potential employees with a focus on performance management, professional development, retention and recruiting diverse candidates. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and external organizations of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds; excellent leadership skills; ability to work independently and to delegate; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and stakeholders; ability to maintain a professional demeanor and uphold confidentiality. Proven experience with strategic data collection principles and data driven decision-making and predictive outcomes.
A minimum of 15-20 years of progressive leadership roles in career management within higher education, with a preference for significant experience within a business school environment. Experience with budget management.
