The History Department of Rowan University is seeking a specialist in U.S. public history to fill a non-tenure-track lecturer or senior lecturer position beginning in the fall of 2023. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. as well as evidence of effective college teaching. In addition, candidates should have demonstrated experience at least in three of the following areas: writing grants at the local, state, and federal level; directing historic preservation projects in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties; overseeing historic site management (including interpretation, education, exhibitions, and programming); supervising historic site volunteer/docent program; guiding student interns in the classroom and at historic sites; and teaching introductory as well as advanced undergraduate classes in the public history and material culture of the United States. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
