The basicpurpose of this work is to receive, store, track, issue and ship packages,supplies, materials and equipment for College use. This position is responsiblefor unpacking and examining incoming boxes, internal tracking and finaldelivery of goods to departments, affixing asset tags and inputting identifyingcodes, maintaining the storeroom including inventory and filling and deliveringorders, issuing supplies, materials and equipment, maintaining records and takinginventories.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Under the direction of the Director of Procurement & Business Operations or designee, conduct daily receiving and issuing activities to ensure compliance with College and other applicable policies and procedures;
- Receive, unpack and examine incoming packages to verify quality, quantity and condition of goods for conformance to specifications and packing slips; create electronic record of package arrival and electronically store copies of paperwork;
- Perform related duties such as loading and unloading items to and from trucks; operate hand trucks, pallet jacks and similar equipment; maintain general appearance and organization of workspace and storeroom;
- Mark identifying asset codes and affix asset inventory tags, scan/input data into asset management software;
- Complete internal deliveries, obtain receipt signature;
- Maintain stock levels of general and cafeteria supplies, assist departments with requesting items that are not stocked on campus, work with the
- Purchasing Department to place orders as necessary;
- Track shipments with tracking numbers, communicate delivery to vendors/College departments, troubleshoot shipping delays and issues;
- Track outgoing shipments electronically in Excel or similar system, including identifying information as required;
- Run large batch mail jobs, determine eligibility of bulk discount rates and ship accordingly;
- Assist with periodically scanning physical inventory and reviewing and/or reconciling records;
- Submit electronic surplus property requests and track disposal/transfer authorization in accordance with state law and College policy;
- Create labels using online mail/shipping accounts and onsite equipment, run reports and manage/add users;
- Troubleshoot and complete general maintenance of shipping and mailing equipment;
- Liaison with secure shredding, water delivery and other assigned vendors to coordinate pick up/delivery and communicate replacement equipment needs, and assist departments with needs relating to these services;
- Scan invoices and route as directed and create receivers in Financial system;
- Provide backup coverage for the Copy Center, place paper orders as requested by Copy Center staff;
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in storekeeping work in a storeroom, stockroom or warehouse, the major duties of which included receiving, storing and issuing supplies and equipment

- Knowledge of the standard methods and techniques for handling and storing hazardous products and fragile, durable and perishable goods;
- Knowledge of the standard recordkeeping techniques and procedures used in storekeeping;
- Knowledge of the principles and methods of inventory control of supplies and equipment;
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures followed in storekeeping;
- Knowledge of standard procedures, methods and materials used in packaging materials and supplies for shipment;
- Knowledge of the various methods used in transporting goods, materials and equipment;
- Knowledge of the terminology, coding, symbols and standard abbreviations used in storekeeping;
- Knowledge of the methods and procedures used for the security of property;
- Skill in the operation of materials handling equipment used in storekeeping such as forklifts, hand trucks, dollies, etc;
- Ability to explain the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards and guidelines governing assigned unit activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel;
- Experience using asset management tracking software;
- Experience using People Soft Financials.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: AFSCME Unit II, Grade 11 Step 1 $39,537.68 annually. Appointmentsfrom outside the bargaining unit begin at Step 1 of the range.
