You will work with a team of experienced, government-focused professionals, providing critical support and conducting direct outreach to a variety of external individuals and organizations. You understand the government policy arena, including legislative and regulatory. You’ll use your knowledge of the nexus between government and the private sector to help the Government Affairs team achieve objectives critical to the business. You’ll help drive our success in the policy arena by maintaining external relationships in DC and across the country. You’ll collaborate across all teams within Government Affairs to identify key policy matters and build support for T-Mobile positions with external stakeholders. You’ll bring the opinions and perspectives of outside voices inside T-Mobile to build familiarity within the business, impacting programming and decision-making. You’ll also strengthen awareness of T-Mobile in the marketplace among outside parties and create critical understanding of our leadership and innovation in the broadband marketplace. You’ll maintain existing relationships and build new ones. You’ll work alongside regulatory attorneys, lobbyists, advocates and consultants to promote T-Mobile.
What you’ll do in your role.
Serve as the day-to-day relationship manager for key policy groups, civil rights organizations, think tanks, public interest groups and NGOs
Develop proactive strategies to reach stakeholder groups on key policy matters
Work within a dedicated external affairs team to implement issues-based advocacy campaigns and support business development activities
Represent T-Mobile at outside meetings, conventions, panel discussions and other events
Drive calls/meetings, coordinate proposals and partnerships, oversee the creation of materials
Prepare and keep current fact sheets, research, business data points and other documents to support advocacy activities with key stakeholder groups
Draft remarks for outside events and coordinate development of video and social media assets
Design presentations on key issues
Monitor and analyze developments in government policy that impact external relationships
Track and achieve key internal goals and milestones
Collaborate across Government Affairs, and with other departments, to identify needs, provide advice and offer solutions
The experience you’ll bring.
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience working in government, politics or advocacy
Experience working with or inside civil rights or others advocacy organizations
Corporate Government Affairs experience ideal
Experience running grassroots advocacy campaigns
Interpersonal skills second to none
Demonstrated strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to partner across the company and work with different teams
Capable of balancing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Urgency and flexibility – understanding there will be after hours work at times
Willingness to travel and attend after-business hours events
Calm under pressure and tight deadlines
Proficiency in MSFT Office suite
Knowledge of consumer technology and wireless technologies a plus
