Founded in 1975, located in the scenic westside of Petaluma, California, The Spring Hill School is a coeducational, independent day school for grades Preschool-9th grade. Purpose: Responsible for leading the Finance/Accounting functions for The Spring Hill School
This position reports to the Head of School, is a member of the School’s Leadership Team, and serves as chief staff liaison to Board committees, including but not limited to the Finance, Audit, Building and Grounds committees, working closely with Committee chairs and organizing agendas and meeting materials and presenting at meetings.

Essential Functions
Accounting:
Produce monthly financial statements, including a Narrative, Profit & Loss Statement, and Balance Sheet overall and by campus with supporting documents
Develop annual budget for all three campuses
Cash Management that includes daily monitoring of all bank accounts and cash flows, ensuring cash stability
Process all billings and follow up on accounts receivable
Process payroll and accounts payable, including monthly VISA statements
Set up Smart Tuition for each family each year and as needed additions and adjustments
Set up all Full Pay and Partial Pay invoices annually
Process all deposits
Manage tuition insurance program
Support for Annual Audit performed by an outside firm
Human Resources:
Review and administration of employee benefits
Onboard new employee’s
Create all employee contracts annually
Manage Worker's Compensation plan and incidents
Enrollment:
Produce student contracts annually and throughout the year as needed
Maintain Master Student file
Create Tuition information for parents
Operations:
Liability Insurance that includes General, D&O, Umbrella, Commercial Property, Auto, Educators Professional and Accident policies
Approve Supply Ordering for all three campuses
Three campuses' maintenance management
Qualifications:
3+ years of management-level experience in areas of finance and operations, preferably in an educational, not-for-profit, or mission-aligned organization
Previous supervisory and governance experience, preferably in an educational, not-for-profit, or mission-aligned organization
A comprehensive skill set for oversight of financial reporting, budgets, investment and endowment strategy, accounting, facilities, construction and project management, HR, technology, and risk management
The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver and an enthusiastic team player with exceptional oral and written communication skills
An open mind that asks questions, learns from others, and brings a collaborative and respectful approach to problem-solving
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced proficiency in business applications, such as Microsoft Office suite, Google Suite, and QuickBooks.
