The Theater Department at Skidmore College invites applications for a Costume Shop Manager and Lecturer to join the departmentâ™s BS degree program. Responsibilities of the position include teaching one 3-credit costume course each semester; supervising the construction and preparation of all costumes for departmental productions; overseeing all costume design students and construction crews; and costume design of one department production each semester. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion and cultural competency in teaching, production, student mentoring, and the profession. This is a 3 year appointment and will begin September 1, 2023.

Candidates should be prepared to teach courses at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels; to mentor students in the areas of candidateâ™s expertise; and to support the departmentâ˜s production season and collective governance.
Education: Undergraduate degree (BA, BFA, BS) required; MFA, DFA, PhD or comparable terminal degree preferred; experience working with undergraduates required; professional experience preferred.

a one page teaching statement or sample syllabus; a one page statement that specifically addresses how equity, diversity, inclusion and cultural competency inform your creative work, managerial work, and teaching;
