The University of Rochester’s Center for Translational Neuromedicine (CTN) focuses on the development of new approaches for treating neurological diseases, primarily using cell and gene therapy. The research performed in the Center has led to novel therapies and supported advancements in the biotechnology industry.
The Center for Translational Neuromedicine is now in search of a Research Grants & Finance Administrator (Admin II - CTN). The Research Grants & Finance Administrator will act as the Program Manager for all active grant-based projects. This involves managing financials and contract administration for the grants, along with strategic planning to increase cohesion with our sister center at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Research Grants & Finance Administrator will achieve this through:
Fiscal Administration: Monitors the current and long-range/forecasted operating and capital budgets of the research mission. Develops monthly, quarterly and annual reports on financial status of various accounts and projects. Manages best practice fiscal/administrative procedures in the Center.
Grants Management: Collaborates with Center leadership and Principal Investigators (PI’s) to prepare grant applications and submissions. For funded awards, directs the distribution of funds and provides routine reports to the funding agency.
Research Administration: Manages ongoing and emerging research initiatives for the Center, monitoring grant submission deadlines and needs for funded projects. Sends regular reports to sponsoring agencies including National Institutes of Health (NIH), the DOD, foundations and other professional organizations providing research grants.
Personnel Management: Coaches and mentors’ staff, fosters an expectation of accountability and recognizes teamwork. Is the Center’s liaison to Human Resources, Benefits, HR Service Center, and Payroll.
The Center for Translational Neuromedicine is open to a hybrid work schedule, a mix of onsite and remote work, for the Research Administrator.
The successful Research Grants & Finance Administrator candidate will have:
- 5+ years of relevant financial and grants management experience, preferably in an academic setting
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity
- Biotech experience preferred
- Knowledge of the associated reporting guidelines for sponsored funds is beneficial
- Excellent analysis and project management skills
