To support this mission, URMC’s Human Resources team is seeking a Director for Staff Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Engagement.
As a member of the HR leadership team, the Director for Staff DEI and Engagement will implement programs that support, enhance and improve the culture of engagement and inclusion across URMC. Critical to this role is the development and execution of processes that build a model of employee engagement which fosters innovation, leading to a more inclusive culture.
Providing leadership, guidance and support for DEI efforts, the Director for Staff DEI and Engagement will collaborate and partner with the University’s Institutional Office of Equity and Inclusion, URMC’s Office of Equity and Inclusion, and Human Resources.
Focus areas for the Director include:
Building the diversity of our applicant pools
Development of career pathways across job categories, with a focus on under-representation
Promotion of learning and development opportunities that embrace cultural humility
Identification and effort to close DEI gaps to cultivate a fair and just climate, culture and community
Collaboration with HR Employee Relations regarding DEI Crisis Interventions that work toward building a restorative practice and social justice-minded institution.
At least 5 years in progressive leadership roles, including 3 years in DEI Competence leadership
The ability influence and drive decision-making are essential, as well as proven, demonstrable experience developing and executing DEI programs
PREFERRED: Experience in the healthcare industry or higher education/academia; Master's degree in Human Resources, Business or another related field
