The Position The Independent Police Monitor leads the operations of the Independent Police Oversight Office. This civilian role reports to the City Manager and provides independent oversight aimed at preventing inefficient and unlawful police operations. The Independent Police Monitor continues to set the operational philosophy of the Office and develops and maintains standard operating procedures to ensure all matters are handled in a thorough, objective, fair, and impartial manner.
