Position Description
PGAL is seeking Compliance Associate to support the Luxembourg Conducting Officer for Compliance, AML/CFT (MLRO-RC) and Distribution
Core Responsibilities
PGAL Compliance Monitoring Program:
Maintenance and execution of PGAL's Compliance Monitoring program to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and legal framework to PGAL
Regulatory Interaction
Ensure interactions with Regulators are logged and deliverables timely managed
Maintain PGAL's regulatory reporting schedule up to date and monitor its implementation
Ensure outstanding deliverables to the Regulators are followed-up and escalated to PGAL's governance where required
AML/CFT:
Assist the PGAL's MLRO-RC to maintain AML/CFT policies up to date
Preparation AML/CTF assessments and annual reports for PGAL and the AIFs it manages
Support the annual AML survey and questionnaire to be filed with the AML/CFT regulators
Ensure Suspicious Activities report are logged and followed-up
Preparation and coordination of AML/CFT trainings
Support PIMCO Anti Financial Crime team where required
Investment Guidelines Monitoring:
In coordination with PGAL's Risk Management team and PIMCO's Compliance Guidelines Monitoring team ensure that investment rules are properly parameterized, monitored and breaches reported to PGAL's governance and the Regulators where and when required.
Marketing / Distribution:
Support the Conducting Officer responsible for Marketing/Distribution in the implementation of the control oversight framework on the marketing / distribution activities of PGAL
Regulatory changes
Monitor regulatory changes impacting PGAL to ensure that these are properly tracked, assessed, documented and reported to PGAL's governance
Reporting and documentation:
Preparation of regular Compliance, Distribution and AML/CTF reports to PGAL's governance
Support in the preparation of the annual regulatory reporting
Build, maintain and ongoing enhancement of existing reporting
Excel in a strong "player-coach" model in a flat, non-hierarchical business
The "player coach" model is prevalent at PIMCO. This demands that staff "get their hands dirty" and work well in a team based environment with a collegiate and collaborative approach to problem solving.
This includes execution of PGAL's Compliance program to ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements in collaboration with other team members locally and globally.
Position Requirements
Education and experience:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Audit or Law
2-5 years' of experience in a Compliance or Internal Audit function of an Investment Fund Manager, Asset Servicer or a Global External Audit firm
Compliance experience in alternative products is key to success in this role
Experience in developing a risk based, audit-ready Compliance program with a focus on first line controls and related Compliance activities in Alternatives as well as experience in AML/CFT and alternative products including private equity, private credit and structured products are a plus for this role
Knowledge of applicable Luxembourg regulation:
Good knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory and AML/CFT requirements applicable to an AIFM and AIFs in Luxembourg
Organization and communication skills
A clear, detailed, logical approach with excellent record keeping
Ability to work to conflicting & demanding deadlines under pressure and to interact clearly and efficiently with senior individuals as well as internal and external service providers
Strong analytical, self-starting, comprehension & problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
Fluent in English (both written and spoken) - any other European language will be an advantage
Highest professional standards and client service orientation essential for success in the role
The candidate must be a team player with ability to foster good working relations and support the team's professional standards and client service orientation
Flexibility in approaching complex subject matter and understanding the business needs in the context of regulatory requirements is crucial
