GENERAL PURPOSE
Project Coordinator will provide administrative leadership and oversight for a comprehensive project funded by a SAMHSA grant. Grant and position conclude on 09-29-2025. Coordinator will help facilitate a public health approach to prevent campus suicide and strengthen infrastructure to promote wellness and encourage help-seeking student behavior; conduct outreach to vulnerable groups with substance abuse and mental health problems who are at greater risk for suicide and suicide attempts. Coordinator will assist in providing mental health treatment and case management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and provide direction for the strategic planning, development/implementation of a large and complex project with several components (including, budget, data reports, co-chairing committee, implementing trainings and programming).
Meet with students to secure information and to assess needs; provide individual and group counseling and crisis intervention on social, cultural, behavioral, developmental, and other matters for students experiencing mental or behavioral problems. Consult with families, faculty, staff, mental health professionals and medical personnel, as needed to facilitate the counseling process; refer students to outside resources as warranted.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree (Mental health counseling, social work, psychology)
Fully licensed in New York state to practice clinical counseling preferred. At least limited permit to practice counseling in New York state required.
3 to 5 years of work-related experience
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
