Under the general direction of the Laboratory Director, the employee is responsible for the overall management of the PHC Blood Banks (PSHMC, PHFH, MCH, and SJH) Under the general direction of the Inland Northwest Washington (INWA) Laboratory Director, the employee is responsible for the overall management of the INWA Blood Banks in Sacred Heart Medical Center, Holy Family Hospital, Mount Carmel Hospital, and St. Joseph's Hospital. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and philosophy of Providence Health and Services. INWA Blood Bank Manager develops, coordinates and oversees the strategic, operational and technical framework for blood bank operations in INWA. Helps develop and maintain Transfusion Service operating budget and manage multi-million contract(s). Manager has oversight and control of process and policy and ensuring excellent customer service. In addition, this position actively participates in system initiatives related to Epic standard system structures and contracts. Develops over arching strategic goals in INWA for Blood Banks in concert with the INWA Laboratory Director, the INWA Medical Director and in coordination with key physician leaders. The position assures that the Blood Banks, in concert with the Laboratory Managers, meet the requirements of all appropriate accrediting agencies and regulations. Because of both direct as well as service area accountabilities, the tasks and duties of the position encompass routine daily oversight consistent with supervisory functions as well as broader responsibilities associated with the service area position for all testing procedures.
Reports directly to the INWA Laboratory Director. Matrixed reporting dotted line to the Lab Manager overseeing the lab operations in which the directly supervised Blood Bank resides. Peer relationships are with other supervisors and managers. Strong ongoing interactions with INWA Medical Director and Vitalant Medical Director, Manager and Supervisors and BSI staff. Interacts regularly with other Providence System level Blood Bank managers and supervisors, Nursing Services, Department directors, and physicians.

Required qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Related Health Science
Ten (10) or more years of progressive healthcare experience
Five (5) years of clinical laboratory blood bank experience
Preferred qualifications:
National Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology -OR- equivalent national Medical Laboratory Scientist (Medical Technologist) - American Medical Technologists -OR- National Laboratory Tech - United States Government
Master's Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
