We are currently seeking a Board-Certified Medical Physicist with a minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical Radiation Oncology to join our group in the Portland Metropolitan area as the Director of Physics for Radiation Oncology.
Responsibilities include: oversight of all of the clinical physics activities at Kaiser Permanente; supervision of the physics staff and oversight of the QA/QC program for the department; clinical guidance and support for dosimetry and all treatment procedures, including SRS/SBRT, VMAT, IGRT, IMRT, and HDR brachytherapy; participate in the purchasing and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment; strategic planning and technological direction; ensure effective communication of the organization's mission and goals. We are an all Varian department with 4 TrueBeams Linacs (2 matched HDMLC and 2 matched Millenniums) each with 6 DOF couch. One unit also has BrainLab ExacTrak imaging. We have a very active HDR program.
Knowledge of Varian linacs, Aria/Eclipse/BrainLab (iPlan and Elements: MME/Cranial/Spine) and SRS/SBRT QA/commissioning experience is preferred.
The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills and will join a well-knit team including 9 Radiation Oncologists, 5 Medical Physicists, 6 Dosimetrists and 15 Therapists.
