Job Summary
McKesson is seeking a Lead Business Developer, Pipeline & Strategy-Specialty Distribution.
Position Description:
The Lead Business Developer, Pipeline & Strategy Specialty Distribution role will work with companies and consultants on manufacturer RFPs, capabilities presentations and initiate contract discussions/negotiations. The Lead will be responsible for proactively monitoring the specialty pipeline and engaging with pipeline manufactures. Goal will be to establish strategic relationships with current and emerging biotech manufactures with pipeline products and to deliver the McKesson value proposition to illustrate McKesson is a healthcare leader and include them in their Specialty Distribution network. This role will be responsible to drive value proposition for Specialty Distribution Team to elevate brand and perception of McKesson within the healthcare marketplace.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Responsible for establishing relationships with small biotech companies and consultants to ensure inclusion in manufacturer RFPs, access to limited distribution networks, create exclusive distribution relationships, and ensure McKesson has access to appropriate specialty products within broad specialty distribution networks.
Engage early with new biotech companies, progress and track record for limited distribution.
Work with Marketing to drive overall value proposition for Specialty Distribution networks.
Responsible for initiating contracting discussions, managing new emerging biotech contracting process and ensuring delivery of launch excellence for services of new contract.
Responsible to collaborating internally to ensure enterprise-wide alignment of specialty pipeline among McKesson broader enterprise, such as CoverMyMeds and Biologics.
Responsible for creating and presenting capabilities presentations that align with McKesson's overall value story within healthcare *Responsible to ensure McKesson remains an innovative leader and best in class in the specialty distribution space to remain competitive.
Will play leadership role for McKesson representing Specialty Distribution within our integrated enterprise gene therapy strategy.
Responsible for working with Specialty leadership team for formulating and help implementation of rare disease, oncology strategies to help improve access to limited distribution drugs, exclusive distribution relationships.
Responsible for responding to manufacturer & consultant RFPs and responsible for process internally and externally to ensure effective responses to contribute gaining access to specialty products; create and maintain RFP process, RFP library, capabilities slide decks, capabilities presentations.
Responsible to monitor specialty pipeline, estimated PDUFA's, clinical updates, industry trends and FDA updates.
Travel at minimum 40% of the time
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
Education/Training
Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline
Business Experience
10+ years' work experience within strategic account ownership, specialty distribution, people/team leader, and/or healthcare/pharmaceutical industry
10+ years Industry/Business Development with healthcare marketplace experience required
Specialized Knowledge/Skills
Ability to identify and interact professionally with all levels of management, internal and externally, exceling at executive presence/communication
Ability to deliver a clear, concise and responsive value story customized to each customer based on their product or disease state needs
Ability to navigate and communicate with all decision makers at biopharma; brand, market access, trade, finance operations, patient services to effectively communicate McKesson Specialty Distribution value proposition
Strong industry specific knowledge, including demonstrated knowledge of distribution, product launches, launch excellence, market access, brand strategy, specialty pharmaceutical
Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills and creativity to develop new specialty products to gain value from pharma
Proven ability to work across multiple functions within a matrix environment, strong collaboration, and teamwork skill
Assertive follow-up skills
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication, negotiation, delivering value proposition, and presentation skills
Ability to handle several projects, contracts, and internal meetings at one time and continually prioritize based on value
Salary: 137,600.00 - 183,500.00 - 229,400.00 USD Annual (Target budget 180-190K) with 20% MIP

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
$137,600 - $229,400
