The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach assists the head men'sbasketball coach in coaching, supervising and developing an intercollegiatevarsity team, including in-season and off-season programming, in accordancewith institutional and departmental objectives within the rules and regulationsof the athletic governing bodies.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist head coach in establishing team goals for the season and ensure that they are in line with those of the entire MassBay Athletic program;
• Responsible for recruiting and training eligible players, organizing, implementing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the team sport, and for attending practices and games;
• Responsible for knowledge of and adhering to league rules and best practices pertaining to sport techniques, rules and regulations;
• Communicate daily with Assistant Director of Athletics regarding season progression including details regarding practices, game results, and player eligibility;
• Distribute and collect all team equipment to players throughout the season;
• Represent the college and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college sanctioned programs such as open houses);
• Assist with game day set-up and breakdown.

Required Qualifications:

• Associates degree;
• Experience coaching at the college, high school, or club level;
• Good communication skills.

Salary Range: $6,000
