Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for an Emergency Manager. This position:
Oversees and coordinates all planning, communication, training, and operations management to University-wide incident and emergency preparedness programs and initiatives.
Directs campus-wide incident/emergency planning and business continuity planning including the strategic planning, development and revision of incident/emergency preparedness, disaster recovery and business continuity documentation and policies, and the implementation and training associated with such policies.
Provides incident/emergency preparedness information, consultation, and training to the campus community, planning and assessment of responses to disasters and emergencies and recommendations for improvement.
Leads the campus incident management team through the phases of emergency management.
Works with local, county, state, and national agencies to coordinate plans, procedures, and programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
3 years' experience in emergency management planning at a university, industry, or government agency level or related.
Knowledge of general fire, police, EMS and incident management.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication stills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to provide information to clarify situations, resolve problems, and negotiate services and/or agreements.
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local agencies, systems, regulations, and guidelines related to emergency management.
Ability to develop and present educational programs, workshops, and trainings.
Experience in conducting all hazard or business continuity assessments and writing emergency incident plans.
Working knowledge of computer systems, databases and spreadsheet management and web based business practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advance knowledge and understanding of institutional incident/emergency management principles, procedures, and standards.
Experience in grant writing.
Certification as a Certified Emergency Manager by the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) and/or NYS Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (NYSDHSES).
Demonstrated experience in working with emergency response agencies in Monroe County, NY, New York State emergency response agencies, and/or Federal Emergency response agencies.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm includes some nights and weekends. Salary and Benefits: The minimum salary for this position is $72,208.
