TheRole: Global Head of Compliance - Commodity Insights
Global Head of Compliance will lead our compliance program. This role will be report to the division General Counsel, Commodity Insights and Mobility, within the S&P Global Legal and Regulatory Affairs Department.
The Team: Commodity Insights Compliance Team's role is to ensure SPGCI's compliance program is fit for purpose and highly effective, including through its design, monitoring and enforcement, in order to allow S&P Global to maintain its culture of compliance.
The Impact:
Provide effective, practical, business-oriented compliance support for the business globally including by managing the SPGCI Compliance team.
Be a team-oriented resource for the business, the General Counsel, Commodity Insights and Mobility, and the Global Legal and Regulatory Affairs leadership.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the division General Counsel and members of the S&P Global Legal and Regulatory Affairs Department centers of excellence on the myriad compliance matters affecting S&P Global Commodity Insights, including by assisting the business in ensuring adherence to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures.
Work with the SPGCI business and manage the divisional Compliance team in the enhancement and implementation of its compliance policies and procedures, (e.g., conflicts of interest, securities disclosure, sanctions, information security, privacy (including GDPR), including through monitoring and enforcement of those policies and procedures.
Provide support for the compliance to regulation affecting the Platts benchmarks business, such as the UK and European Benchmark Regulation, including preparing and filing required regulatory, applications, disclosures and reports.
Take an active role in the annual assurance review process under the IOSCO Principles for Oil Price Reporting Agencies.
Manage compliance support on M&A transactions, particularly in due diligence and post-acquisition integration, as well as support the product development team on issues relating to new product offerings.
Provide compliance support in reviewing new business, editorial and operational activities, including participating in relevant committees as appropriate.
Working with other functional areas (e.g., risk, internal audit), create and implement testing and reporting processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures, as well as conducting internal investigations and reviews.
Develop and disseminate compliance training programs and ongoing communications that help drive S&P Global's culture of compliance.
Support and assist in use of technology solutions to facilitate implementation of compliance program.
Remain educated on developments in the compliance field with potential impacts on the SPGCI business.
Partner with S&P Global Compliance Center of Excellence to engage in specialized compliance work (e.g., Conflicts of Interest including Securities Disclosure; Global Financial Crimes Compliance, Sanctions; Information Security; M&A due diligence).
Help drive efforts to effectively partner with S&P Global's Risk Team to design and implement an effective risk framework for the business within the broader framework and overall risk appetite of S&P Global.
What We're Looking For:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; law degree in U.S., England and Wales or other common law jurisdiction preferred.
Experience and knowledge of requirements for all compliance issues facing a complex global business, such as conflicts of interest, information security, privacy, business continuity planning and management.
Experience in leading global compliance efforts in a commodities trading or financial services firm preferred.
Unwavering ethics and integrity, and an ability to stand firm on issues with independence and probity.
Understanding of derivatives markets, derivatives exchanges a plus.
Experience in interacting with regulators, including assisting with responses to regulatory inquiries.
Strong analytical skills and ability to articulate guidance clearly and concisely.
Excellent project management skills and an ability to prioritize effectively.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organizational skills, high degree of attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and within in a team environment.
Ability to work effectively within the organization's complex decision-making and matrixed organizational structure including to drive consensus across business groups
Ability to maintain a global perspective and work with diverse colleagues across various jurisdictions.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $152,600 to $303,575. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
