MS conducts its business through three principal business segments-Institutional Securities (ISG), Wealth Management (WM), and Investment Management (IM).
The U.S. Banks (the Banks) represent an important strategic asset for the Firm with opportunities to drive earnings and business growth across WM and ISG by offering lending solutions, cash management, and deposit products to deepen client relationships.
The U.S Banks Strategy and Execution team's primary mission is to partner across the organization to evaluate, design, and lead the execution of Bank's key initiatives and growth plans. We also manage important Bank governance activities by coordinating the development of the annual Strategy & Business Plans; conduct competitor analysis, benchmarking, and reporting to Bank leadership; support project execution in partnership with the Program Management Office (PMO) team; and administration through our Business Management function.
We are seeking an individual who is an inquisitive and strategic thinker with a passion for uncovering, defining, and executing new growth initiatives for the Morgan Stanley U.S. Banks across the Advisor, Workplace, and E*TRADE self-directed channels. This role will report to the Executive Director, U.S. Banks Strategy and Execution.
Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities for this role will be to: â?¢ Identify growth opportunities as well as approaches to unlock those opportunities for the Morgan Stanley US Banks in partnership with Bank Management, product teams and other key functions. â?¢ Tell the story of Morgan Stanley US Banks; assist with the development of the banks' annual Strategy & Business plan, goals, and objectives. â?¢ Help define the multi-channel and multi-client segment strategy approach for the Morgan Stanley US Banks, as these entities continue to grow and expand into new areas. â?¢ Develop business cases, design, and implementation key strategic initiatives across various Banking offerings spanning lending and deposit products. â?¢ Partner with Bank Product, Sales, Digital, Finance, Treasury, Analytics, Marketing, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Sourcing, and the Program Management Office teams, and other business units, to evaluate and implement strategic initiatives. â?¢ Assist in early phase project management of strategic initiatives and go to market execution as these programs get off the ground. â?¢ Develop concise and effective presentations and governance materials for Senior Leadership, Bank Committees and Bank Board, as needed.
Required Skills: â?¢ 7-10 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, with participation in the bank and/or brokerage segments preferred; â?¢ Strong analytical skills with an ability to synthesize disparate data points and information into the most important themes and messages; â?¢ Experience using market / competitor research including familiarity with corporate filings and financial statements (e.g. 10-K) to drive insights and inform recommendations and action plans; â?¢ Excellent writing and presentation development skills that can take complex concepts and create concise narratives for presentation and discussion; â?¢ Effective relationship building skills and the ability to work in a matrixed, collaborative organization; â?¢ Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and shifting timelines in a fast paced, demanding work environment; â?¢ Self-starter who learns quickly and is attentive to detail; â?¢ Strong sense of personal ownership and accountability for self and the team; â?¢ Highly proficient with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); â?¢ BS/BA required, MBA a plus.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
