Primary Purpose: The Director of McGeorge School of Law's California Victims Resource Center (CVRC) operates a financially and, by and large, independent operation within the law school, requiring the Director to perform high-level management functions, including fundraising, grant management, budget management, marketing, and employee supervision. The CVRC is entirely funded by state grants, and the Director functions under limited direction from the Dean of the law school, independently performing challenging work, coordinating multiple employees, managing conflicting priorities, overseeing marketing and communications issues, and handling extremely sensitive information (especially information relating to the crime victims served by the CVRC) with tact, discretion, and good judgment. The Director serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA) as outlined by the Clergy Act. CSAs have federally mandated responsibilities to report crimes that are reported to them.
Essential Functions:
Provides strategic leadership and direction to facilitate the achievement of the mission of the California Victims Resource Center (CVRC), a mission that is defined by state law and to plan for the future direction and growth of the CVRC.
Develop and implement specific objectives and goals for all CVRC programs.
Evaluate the efficiency of program procedures and develops and initiates changes as required to improve service delivery and meet CVRC objectives and goals.
Prepare and direct the preparation of complex federal and/or state grant applications, reports, and budgets to ensure that all appropriate policies and guidelines are followed. Work to ensure that programs are funded with adequate resources to maintain mandated and expected levels of services.
Manage and monitor the budget and day-to-day operations of the CVRC, including directing the CVRCs statewide services, managing and ensuring the success of the CVRCs own programs, and developing and delivering the CVRCs educational/training programs.
Supervise a staff of attorneys, graduate legal assistants, graduate research assistants, and law students working for the CVRC as law clerks or providing services for externship credit towards a McGeorge graduation requirement, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, monitoring, and evaluating performance of employees.
Receive, manage, and oversee all technical assistance requests from service providers across the state.
Oversee proper functioning and updating of the CVRC website, including the live chat, publications portal, and service provider portal.
Develop and deliver training and professional development opportunities for CVRC staff and students to foster continued growth with a trauma informed focus.
Develop and present Know Your Rights presentations to service providers and the community.
Ensure that CVRC services are accessible to all victims, and work to ensure that the plight of crime victims, especially from historically unserved and underserved communities, are considered both in the day-to-day delivery of services to victims and in legislative and regulatory decision-making by government bodies.
Collaborate with other victim organizations and governmental organizations on the local, statewide and national levels, and attend conferences, trainings and meetings as the CVRC representative.
Resolve routine and complex problems with minimal consultation; handle multiple assignments and prioritize in a constantly changing work environment.
Recognize and improve administrative and operational processes as needed.
Oversee marketing and communications regarding the CVRC services to ensure that crime victims are aware of the CVRC and are able to access CVRC services safely and readily.
Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Attorney and member of California State Bar.
Three (3) years of comparable experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.
Superb verbal and written communication skills
Solid grasp of revenue budgeting and forecasting principals.
Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Capacity to exercise diplomacy and deal effectively with a variety of situations in a calm, precise manner.
Ability to correctly interpret and explain policies and procedures.
Proficiency with standard office computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite.
Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: This fast-paced, challenging and rewarding position provides an opportunity for the right candidate to become a valued contributor to the achievement of the goals of the VCRC organization. Work performed during standard business hours. May require some evening and weekend hours to complete tasks. Occasional travel is required.
Hiring Range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
