ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works under the general direction of the assigned Director to provide medical treatment for ill and injured animals. Performs preventative veterinary care to maintain a healthy animal population and to create a healthy environment for animals located at the Memphis Animal Shelter. Participates in major operations and planning decisions in regard to animal care and health. Performs surgical sterilization on animals. Evaluates and corrects post-surgical complications.
