Job Description: This position designs and maintains the program's primary advising and degree audit and certification database and all database tools and processes that capture and evaluate student-related data. Additionally, this person designs and writes customized queries against MySlice data warehouse data in support of data and communications initiatives, including academic advising. This person develops the Honors Program's digital, web, and communications architecture and strategy: designs and implements external and internal websites, social media, file sharing portals, and online repositories in support of Honors program operation and student support. This position participates in external communication design initiatives for Honors programs; produces digital and print graphics and other materials. In collaboration with executive team, manages the programs' visual communications and design presence.

Responsibilities: SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE & PROCESS MANAGEMENT:
Designs and maintains the Honors program's advising and degree audit and certification database, all database tools and components that capture student-related data. Audits final degree information of other colleges/registrar to ensure accuracy. Designs and writes queries in support of academic advising, qualification and student support services; shares Honors relevant data with other schools, colleges, programs, and departments regularly and upon request. Develops and maintains all Honors websites that capture data to facilitate processes: migrates the data into database where it is available to academic advisors for student support services. Supervises year end thesis project processing: development and maintenance of thesis project web portals on SharePoint, scheduling presentations for Capstone presentation day, design and maintenance of Capstone repository, and uploading completed Capstone projects to SUs Surface web database. Supports the Associate Director in the administration, tracking, and organization of applications to Honors and all other admissions processes.
COMMUNICATIONS AND GRAPHIC DESIGN:
Designs, implements and grows communications strategy. This includes social media initiatives, digital communications projects and management of media archives;
In collaboration with executive team, manage all aspects of the programs' visual communications and design presence.
Works with advisors to produce student and alumni profiles, promotional, recruiting, and informational content;
Provides mentoring, training, and support to staff who use social media or web technologies to engage with students;
Produces materials for external communications that accurately represent the Syracuse University brand. Design graphics for integration into web and print communications;
Designs Honors convocation program in InDesign, and works with Word Processing to print booklet for convocation;
Designs Honors infographics, apps, and other unique communications tools that integrate with our website (social media, IFTTT, APIs).
