Job Description: The Career Support Coordinator provides support for the operations, events, and communication efforts of the Newhouse Career Development Center. The Career Support Coordinator will be tasked with administrative duties that support student career advising, event, and general operations of the career center, as well as database management and creative efforts to increase student engagement with the career center's services and resources. This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.

Manage front desk and reception, including answering phones and managing digital appointment calendars.
Respond to emails sent to office's general email account and keeps track of rsum/letter digital drop box and relays common questions and concerns from constituents.
Answer detailed questions from students, faculty, staff, parents, and public, and refers complex matters as needed.
Assist students with scheduling appointments and usage of CSM, Handshake.
Hire, train and supervise student support staff as needed.
Manage marketing assets for career center to increase awareness of resources, career fairs and events, this includes, but not limited to:
Create marketing assets for career fairs and employer, recruiter, and alumni visits such as fliers, social media posts, and advertisements.
Add events to internal and external calendars.
Create eye-catching bulletin board postings for upcoming events, seminars and employer visits.
Support office-sponsored events, including making room reservations, ordering catering, arranging parking, creating name tags, making copies, procuring supplies, and providing day-of assistance.
Oversee alumni mentorship database for students as well as internship & job database, this includes, but not limited to:
Manage alumni database and student membership.
Track and approve student membership to gain access to the alumni database and emailing approved students with instructions and troubleshooting issues.
Manage internship and job database by tracking, updating and inputting leads to online database.
Maintain statistics, record of student attendance to seminars and manage reports of jobs, internships and approve employers on CSM, Handshake.
Track advising statistics, records attendance of seminars, and maintains up-to-date files for assessment purposes.
Create and run regular reports on student platform usage, employer engagement, career fair participation, and others as needed.
Internally flag new employers for new employer relationships.
Design and implement new approaches to increase use of all available platforms by students.
Oversee all social media accounts that focus on engaging students and Newhouse community with the career center, this includes, but not limited to:
Create posts for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to increase audience engagement.
Hire, train and supervise student graphic designers and student social media team.
