Baylor University is seeking an Associate Vice Provost, Research that specifically supports the mission by providing oversight of research administrative activities and direct support to the Vice Provost for Research as Baylor pursues excellence as a preeminent Christian research university.
A Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant research administration experience are required. A Master's degree and 15 years of experience is preferred.
Hybrid work will be considered on a cases-by-case basis for those within the 'Texas Triangle.'

Additional required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to provide leadership and operational oversight to pre- and post-award administration affiliated with externally sponsored projects
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with talents in verbal and written communication with multiple and diverse constituencies
Comprehensive understanding of current laws (federal & state), regulations, and policies related to sponsored projects management and administration, including, but not limited to, the Code of federal regulations, Uniform Guidance, and general agency-specific terms & conditions common to major funding sources (state & local government, foundations, industrially sponsored research).
Experience developing, curating, and maintaining policies and procedures that promote a culture and environment where research, creative activities, and innovation can thrive, consistent with the university mission.
Proven track record of working collaboratively to ensure that the university continues to invest in and grow opportunities for faculty to pursue scholarly activity and creating smooth pathways for sponsored award acquisition and management.
Working knowledge of concepts and principles of research subjects protection, disclosure of financial conflicts of interest, export controls, research security, intellectual property, and other areas of research compliance.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial management and a track record of effective budget and financial management in a research environment.
What You Will Do
Provide primary support to the Vice Provost for Research (VPR) related to the comprehensive oversight of pre-award and post-award administration, including the implementation and management of electronic research administration systems and data sharing with diverse campus constituencies to support decision making
Lead the development, enhancement, and implementation of research infrastructure (people, processes, policies, and systems) necessary to meet the needs of a rapidly growing research institution
Work collaboratively with internal and external constituents in the development and implementation of Baylor's goals and objectives
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
Ability to comply with university policies.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
