Primary Purpose: Under the general supervision of the Director of Patient Finance and Revenue cycle supports and contributes to the clinic mission statement by managing the business activities of the Main Clinic and various clinic programs.

Essential Functions:
Develop and manage business policy/procedures for clinic operations; provide the Business Office with reports and reconciliations, as necessary.
Review and approve adjustments and refunds for all clinics including Redwood City, and Sacramento.
Evaluate and monitor clinic processes to ensure patients are seen in a timely and efficient basis; provide proposals and recommendations for improvement and change.
Hire, manage, mentor, motivate, coach/train, and evaluate staff through effective objectives, delegation, and communication. Includes staff assigned to Patient Services, and CARE program.
Review, monitor, and analyze CARE contracts, financial records, reports and activities of the main clinic including cash receipts, production, billing, and accounts receivable; ensure patient care coordinators are monitoring and managing accounts receivable; ensure that students, managers, coordinators, and appropriate staff receive training, information, and guidance for suitable management of accounts receivable.
Reconcile and resolve financial issues with patients and resolve financial grievances between patients, Group Practice Leaders, and staff/students.
Identify discrepancies, omissions, or errors in chart documentation, diagnosis, and treatment records.
Conduct thorough audits of patient charts and finances to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance with coding and documentation standards.
Analyze accounts receivable reports to identify outstanding balances, proactively contact patients to discuss account resolution, accurately enter office codes, and communicate findings and updates to the Director of Patient Finance and Revenue Cycle.
Serve as clinic liaison with administration, faculty, and staff.
Serve as clinic liaison with internal and external auditors.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of patient finance and revenue cycle.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of:
Accounting/billing procedures.
Dental terminology and treatments
Principles of management and supervision.
Principles of business communication, including interpersonal interactions and letter
and report writing.
Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to:
Communicate effectively with a diverse population of patients, students, staff, faculty and administration.
Produce professional and concise reports and written correspondence.
Analyze financial reports and make appropriate recommendations.
Manage grants, including grant writing and liaison activities with government officials.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Provide effective leadership, training, and supervision.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Demonstrate professional judgment in all situations.
Effectively manage projects and deadlines.
Experience:
Minimum five years increasingly responsible management experience, preferably in a dental or medical office.
Two years of chart audit experience in a dental setting.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions:
Position is full-time, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Hiring Range: $100,336.27 - $132,025.55 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
