The Principal is responsible for developing, administering, and monitoring educational programs, optimizing academic opportunities, and promoting the safe and successful development of every student. This position enforces academic integrity, ensures compliance with faculty contracts, verifies appropriate credentials for teaching staff, supervises classified personnel, and achieves academic objectives in alignment with District goals and initiatives.
Essential Functions: 1. Plan, organize, control, and direct educational operations, activities, and services, including curriculum and instructional programs. Provide instructional leadership and oversee the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of programs to meet the needs of diverse learners. 2. Implement Governing Board goals and objectives. Develop and execute policies and procedures, interpreting and administering District policies, rules, and regulations. 3. Provide effective leadership to the school community to fulfill District goals and long-range initiatives. 4. Plan, direct, and conduct staff meetings to discuss policy changes, instructional programs, potential issues, and solutions to existing problems. 5. Oversee all official school correspondence, media releases, and communication with the Superintendent regarding school activities and concerns. 6. Collaborate with parent organizations, committees, and community groups to promote and enhance school programs and foster positive school-community relations. Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of: 1. Local, State, and Federal standards and requirements governing school site operations. 2. The diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of District students. 3. Oral and written communication skills. 4. Budget preparation and management. 5. Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
