The Center for Aviation Studies is accepting applications for a full-time Lecturer appointment to teach undergraduate and/or graduate course(s)in the Center for Aviation Studies. Duties include but are not limited to: curriculum/syllabus design, content and materials development, teaching, and service activities. The selected candidate(s) will be expected to complete activities and provide support for developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students, depending on chosen candidates degree certification. The courses of interest for this position are the ground courses that accompany the flight labs of our professional pilot certificate and the new jet simulator courses under development. Other courses may be assigned as needed.
All courses are taught in person on the Universitys main campus or The Ohio State University Airport in Columbus, Ohio.

Education and Experience Requirements
Masters degree in an area of study applicable to the aviation industry or higher
Experience as a flight instructor
Experience operating turbine aircraft and advanced aircraft systems
FAA Commercial Pilot certificate, with Instrument rating
FAA Flight and Ground Instructor certificates, with Instrument rating
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio States Shared Values.
Desired Qualifications
FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate
5+ years with Boeing 737-800, -900, or MAX 7,8, or 9 models
10+ years of full-time experience working in the aviation industry
Previous experience working in a collegiate aviation FAA Part 141 program
Research or project management experience

The Center for Aviation Studies also offers the minor in aviation for students at the university. All aviation programs with the university have received accreditation from Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). Each semester 300+ students participate in labs or coursework at the university airport, utilizing its fleet of 20 aircraft, flight simulators, air traffic control tower, weather station and communications and navigation systems. Through the Center of Aviation Studies, students have the option to attend the university's Flight Education program that is housed at the universitys airport.
