The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a full-time AssistantDirector of Financial Aid in our Financial Aid department. The Assistant Director assists the Director of Financial Aid in administering the college Financial Aid programs. They work with Director and staff to establish and maintain excellence in customer service. The Assistant Director is responsible for all Financial Aid Data Processing activities, as well as other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Works with the Director of Financial Aid to develop policies and procedures consistent with State, Federal, and Local laws, rules, and regulations. Keeps abreast of current and anticipated Financial Aid regulations and ensures compliance;
Supervises part-time employees (as assigned), works with, and trains the Financial Aid staff to accomplish program objectives and safeguard the assets of College Financial Aid Programs. Trains staff as needed in the use of technology;
Delegates and coordinates staff responsibilities to ensure efficient office operations, both independently and in collaboration with the Director of Financial Aid. Assigns tasks to professional staff, as needed;
Counsels, advises, and assists students and parents with applications for Financial Aid while working with Financial Aid Director and staff to provide excellent customer service to students;
Coordinates with the MVCC Information Technology Department to establish and maintain all electronic data processing associated with Financial Aid activities;
Responsible for creation and validation of all necessary tables, rules, and parameters of the BANNER Financial Aid Module. Creates SQL Routines as needed to generate internal and external reports;
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of all Financial Aid electronic interfaces with external agencies and services. Responsible for electronic transmissions of all Federal applications from the Federal processor to the BANNER Financial Aid Module;
Responsible for the electronic packaging of Federal and State Financial Aid funds as well as the certification and disbursement of those funds to student accounts;
Reconciles all Financial Aid funds with the Department of Education; prepares the annual FISAP Report;
Acts as liaison between student applicants for financial aid benefits and appropriate governmental agencies;
Other duties as related to this job description and as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) - five (5) years of Financial Aid experience
Demonstrated ability with main frame relational/integrated databases
Demonstrated ability with standard electronic office interfaces with the Federal and State governments
