The Opportunity:
The Children's Center Program Admin Manager position is responsible for oversight of all fiscal aspects of the Children's Center: accounts payable and receivable, personnel and payroll, and record keeping for departmental accounting procedures, assists with development and tracking of annual budget, maintains records of grant expenditures, assists with grant budget development and grant proposals and engages with parents regarding billing and account payment, and in general maintains good relationships with families. In addition, this position has responsibility for facilities coordination and licensing compliance reporting in accordance with the State, University and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Supports upper-level management in staff interviewing and recommendation of selected applicants, training new employees, scheduling work. This position also has responsibility for assisting, as necessary with classroom operations: stepping in to classrooms as necessary to assist, greeting and communicating with parents at pickup and drop off, and generally providing support to childcare operations.
The Admin Manager acts as administrative contact, often on complex and confidential issues, for internal and external constituencies, such as with other units of WSU and with other local, state, tribal and federal offices and involved parties. The position requires a high degree of professionalism and strong organizational skills, and exercises independent judgment in interpreting and applying Washington State Compliance Laws
This 12-month, full-time, position is a key member of Washington State University (WSU) College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS), performing comprehensive management and administrative activities for WSU Children's Center. The position involves effectively communicating at all levels of the University system and to numerous and high level external audiences. Position requires the exercise of independent judgment, decision-making, and initiative in performing all duties as well as demonstrating a strict level of confidentiality in all business matters.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4,508.00 - $ 5,635.00 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a program-related area and four (4) years of progressively responsible work in the program specialty, which has included at least two (2) years of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families background check.
Must have a negative tuberculosis (TB) test prior to beginning work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years of administrative assistant experience.
Three (3) years of fiscal record keeping experience.
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field
Two (2) years classroom or administrative experience in early childhood education program
Experience working with a web, network or main/frame-based billings and receivables systems or HCM program.
Experience in Payroll Processing.
Organization skills with ability to handle large volumes of transactions and meet monthly deadlines.
Experience with MS Office, spreadsheet, email, and calendar products.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and experience in effectively working with diverse or multicultural populations.
Experience with Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) licensing, early childhood accreditation, and/or Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) standards
