The Department of Management and Human Resources at The Ohio State Universitys Max M. Fisher College of Business invites applicants for a 25% FTE Lecturer. The appointment is expected to begin in Spring 2026. We are seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach export and international trade courses to undergraduate and graduate students.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering course material for BUSMHR 4570: Establishing Export Firms and other related export courses, ensuring that the content is aligned with academic standards and reflects current trends, compliance regulations, and practical applications in international trade. The position will play a critical role in developing students' knowledge of international trade, compliance, and export strategies, helping them to succeed in a competitive global business environment. This includes leading lectures, case studies, and class discussions, as well as facilitating hands-on learning experiences for students focused on international trade and export strategy development. The instructor will also provide mentorship to students, offering feedback on assignments and supporting their career development in global business, which includes office hours or availability for student consultation outside of class time. They will be responsible for developing and grading assignments, quizzes, and exams, while fostering an environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving. The role requires in-person instruction, project-based learning, and collaboration with external industry experts and organizations. This includes guest speakers and organizations, to enhance the learning experience and provide students with networking opportunities. Finally, the Lecturer will regularly assess the effectiveness of the course and make improvements to the curriculum, teaching methods, and materials based on student feedback and the latest industry trends.
A Bachelors Degree in business and/or related field and 10 years relevant experience is a minimum requirement. In addition, the candidate must be able to demonstrate their ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level. Strong preference will be given to applicants with Masters degrees and experience in: global trade and business, export operations, studying and living abroad, higher education, and course design and delivery.
The monthly salary is competitive with leading research universities. The position is contingent on funding and university approval.
