Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs or designee, the Dean of Enrollment Management & Outreach provides vision and creative leadership for enrollment management, Early College Access, Mayor's Scholars Program, Granville T. Woods, new student recruitment and orientation, international admissions and services, military connected admissions and services, and other enrollment services. The dean provides leadership for other front-line enrollment services offices as assigned. The dean will collaborate with the Vice President for Student Affairs on the planning, implementation, and outreach of the College's strategic recruitment plan. The dean will provide administrative management, professional development, and compliance for all staff and functions. The dean should have an appreciation for shared governance and working in a diverse environment. The Dean of Enrollment Management & Outreach works to ensure that the institutional strategy for recruitment, admissions, and outreach services align with the mission, vision, values, and strategic direction of the College.
Manages the daily operations of enrollment management including admissions, recruitment, international student admissions and support programs, military veteran student admissions and other programs as realigned.
Provides leadership and supervision for special programs including Early College Access Programs, Mayor's Scholars Program, and Granville T. Woods programs.
Develops and implements an outreach plan for Admissions, Early College Access Programs, Mayor's Scholars Program, and Granville T. Woods.
Manages departmental budgets for the areas of responsibility.
Maintains high standards of customer services and develops a system of staff accountability.
Evaluates staff performance according to institutional requirements.
Oversees staff hiring, training, professional development, and performance management processes.
Assumes a leadership role in the development of a comprehensive recruitment and strategic enrollment management plan.
Develops, implements, and coordinates all programs including the selection, hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
Develops and implements documentation and reporting of outreach and engagement activities.
Determines the rational, justification and selection of electronic solutions and systems to support departmental responsibilities.
Works with Institutional Research to develop and analyze enrollment reports.
Works collaboratively with the Assistant Vice President and other directors to develop and execute enrollment and outreach strategies.
Develops, implements, and supports an effective orientation program for new students.
Develop relationships with area K-12 educational institutions to foster the college's recruitment and early college access goals.
Represents the college on school district committees and councils as appropriate and works collaboratively with academic affairs on joint college and school district evaluation and assessment/placement activities.
Serves on committees and cross-functional teams as appropriate.
Works with Marketing to create publications and information for distribution to a broad range of student demographics.
Stays current of national trends by attending workshops, conferences, maintaining appropriate memberships, and other professional development opportunities.
Education:
Master's Degree from Accredited College or University in a related field such as higher education administration, student personnel administration, counseling, business, marketing, or other related fields.
Experience:
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible management/supervisory experience which must include the following:
Leadership management, recruitment, marketing, and demonstrated knowledge about student outreach and intake processing.
Developing outreach, recruitment and strategic enrollment management plans.
Tracking potential students through the steps of the enrollment process.
Demonstrated involvement in state or national professional organizations.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work some Student Service Saturdays, evenings, and General Registration periods.
