Overview
This leadership role provides integrated and strategic direction of various health services, programs and partnerships within Athletics and across the NYU enterprise helping to ensure the holistic well-being and optimal performance of student-athletes. Oversee sports medicine, strength & conditioning, performance nutrition, serve as liaison for mental health services with the goal of fostering collaborative partnerships across internal and external groups, and facilitating a comprehensive network of health services for student-athletes. Commitment to promoting a culture of wellness, optimal sports performance, and excellence among student-athletes.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in athletic training, sports medicine, exercise science, or a related field. and ATC Certification
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Required Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience working in a collegiate athletic setting with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with health and wellbeing technology within professional or collegiate sport organizations.
Preferred Experience: 10+ years in professional sports, college sports and or higher education.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA health governance; providing education to various groups; athlete healthcare best practices. NCAA playing and practice season rules; NCAA recruiting rules; organizational and time management skills; attention to detail.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong knowledge of athletic medicine principles, injury prevention strategies, rehabilitation protocols, strength and conditioning techniques, nutrition guidelines, and mental health best practices. Strong understanding of NCAA and conference regulations related to athletic health and performance.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $105,000.00 to USD $145,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
