The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach assists the head men'sbasketball coach in coaching, supervising and developing an intercollegiatevarsity team, including in-season and off-season programming, in accordancewith institutional and departmental objectives within the rules and regulationsof the athletic governing bodies.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist head coach in establishing team goals for the season and ensure that they are in line with those of the entire MassBay Athletic program;
- Responsible for recruiting and training eligible players, organizing, implementing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the team sport, and for attending practices and games;
- Responsible for knowledge of and adhering to league rules and best practices pertaining to sport techniques, rules and regulations;
- Communicate daily with Assistant Director of Athletics regarding season progression including details regarding practices, game results, and player eligibility;
- Distribute and collect all team equipment to players throughout the season;
- Represent the college and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college sanctioned programs such as open houses);
- Assist with game day set-up and breakdown.

Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree;
- Experience coaching at the college, high school, or club level;
- Good communication skills.
