The Assistant Director – Enterprise Systems Support is both a supervisory and technical role that leads the team responsible for managing UNCW's Enterprise Resource Planning, Application Development, and Enterprise Data needs. This position is responsible for ensuring that enterprise software systems are supported and available and that new technologies are leveraged in an ever-changing landscape of university capabilities. Continual focus on data and enterprise architecture are also key elements in this role.
The Assistant Director is responsible for technical leadership among the enterprise architecture and enterprise data management landscape. This visionary will help set enterprise architecture in terms of platform, tooling, integration, and data management. The assistant director will work with the various ITS departments in establishing appropriate ERP and Application development tooling and processes as well as determining the best data handling, flow and integration in order to best achieve data governance and business data needs.
The Assistant Director is responsible for the overall enterprise architecture design that meets the security and functional needs of the university. The AD will also ensure that the enterprise architecture is readily supportable and resilient and can scale with the needs of the institution.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Post-baccalaureate degree with 2+ years of experience or a baccalaureate degree with 3+ years of experience or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
Post-baccalaureate degree in relevant field with 8+ years of progressive technical experience
5+ years in leadership demonstrating increasing responsibilities and experience in the technology field while managing a remote team
Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and AWS Redshift
Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP tools
Experience with data governance tools such as data catalog, meta data handling, data quality, etc,
Experience building and managing a data warehouse and associated ETL processes
Experience with architecting, designing, and implementing secure enterprise solutions
Certifications in relevant disciplines for this position
3+ years of supervisory experience
Proven record of troubleshooting complex and time-sensitive issues
History of vendor and contract negotiation and management
Experience in developing and designing enterprise architectures
Experience with database management systems
Experience with enterprise data modeling and database design
Experience with data integration solutions
Experience with application development platforms and the application development design lifecycle
Familiarity with enterprise resource management tools (ERP) and their business function
Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and/or project teams
Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills

Development and analysis to support the operational requirements and mandates for production applications and systems.
User access for production applications.
This position is eligible for remote work but will principally employ individuals who reside within or in close proximity to the State of North Carolina.
