The Director, Global Benefits operates as the subject matter expert on all health, wellness, and retirement matters as well as has responsibility for the JMBA and Lighthouse Resort. This Director is responsible for leading the design of and deploying and executing global benefit initiatives. Additionally, this SME leads regional needs assessments, manages relationships with HR colleagues as well as managers and employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to the COE team and regional total rewards managers, as applicable, and local HR regarding global principles and processes. Examples include but not limited to: benefit design strategies and analysis, plan renewals, policies, benefits at termination, peer company principles, position-to-market principles.
- Drives project leadership or participation in the design and administration of benefit programs, development and implementation of communication materials and tools/websites/etc., and ensures programs align with the organization's principles and financial capabilities.
- Serve as the liaison to our key benefit external partnerships to ensure SCJ principles and expectations are being met.
- Conduct due diligence and manage integrations relative to current and potential mergers and acquisitions.
- Prepare annual project plan and operating budget; monitor plan expenditures throughout the year. Develop and prepare scorecards, metrics, and reports for management.
- Lead country specific Committees as needed in conjunction with business partners (e.g., US 401k committee, Pension committees, etc.)
- Through a manager oversees the operations of the JMBA and the Lighthouse Resort.
- Through a director provides counsel and support to the service center on benefit related administration issues and escalations.
- Identification of development needs working with the global team to differentiate the local high priority business need versus regional or global priorities, then prioritizing and executing against those needs in a cohesive and coordinated manner.
- Create and execute development plan to build capability in support of global programs and utilizing global tools and processes.
- Primary contact for peer group forums and other technical associations.
- Keep abreast of market trends and provide current and long-term vision for all benefit programs - by country, region and/or globally.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree required; preferred in Business Administration, Human Resources or other similar fields.
- 10+ years' experience in managing a variety of benefits programs
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Proven experience in the design, implementation, and communication of benefit programs
- Strong knowledge of benefit practices in consumer goods industry highly desirable
- Experience in these is a plus: Workday HRIS, total rewards projects, service delivery models
- Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification desirable
- Master's Degree preferred
- Experience in global health and wellness programs
- Experience working in highly matrixed governance model
- Leadership, influencing and strong communication skills
- Self-driven and strategic in thought processes
