MVCC's School of Humanities invites applications for part-time Adjunct Instructors. We are seeking Instructors to teach courses in the following disciplines: Composition, Film/Art/Music Appreciation, Art History, Philosophy and Ethics, History, Journalism, Literature, Speech, College Foundations, Critical Thinking/Reading, ESOL, Spanish, and American Sign Language.
Courses will be taught in traditional classroom settings on the Utica campus. This position will be for daytime class assignments scheduled between 8:00am and 4:30pm. Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications and availability of the individual and the School needs.
Overview of Job Duties:
Facilitate classroom instruction; Teach assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives; Develop and maintain syllabus materials; Evaluate student performance; Maintain grades, enter midterm and final grades; Respond promptly to student inquiries; Maintain attendance records according to MVCC standards; Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process; Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality; Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using discretion, patience, and courtesy.
Successful candidates must reside in New York State and have the ability to work on campus as required.
