Fork Union Military Academy is a private, Christian, all-boys boarding military school located in the scenic heart of Central Virginia, serving grades 7–12 and postgraduate students. We are seeking a Social Studies Teacher who can deliver strong instruction in history and related disciplines, maintain clear classroom standards, and contribute to a structured, mission-driven school community.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned Social Studies courses (e.g., history, government, civics) aligned with the Academy's college preparatory curriculum
- Develop and implement lesson plans and assessments
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students
- Support student growth, accountability, and classroom culture
- Maintain a structured, well-managed classroom environment
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field (required)
- Prior teaching experience (strongly preferred)
- Virginia teaching license or eligibility (strongly preferred)
Work Environment
This position operates within a structured, student-centered boarding school environment and involves regular interaction with cadets, faculty, and residential staff. Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities may be required.
