The Assistant Director, Athletics Operations assists in the planning, organization, and oversight of daily operations of the Athletics Advancement department. Pursues giving opportunities and cultivates the development cycle of prospects and donors to the Eagles Club.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Assists with the oversight of day to day operations within Athletics Advancement. Recommends, plans, and implements innovative strategies for annual fund portfolio growth.
Administers all stewardship and benefit delivery for the Eagles Club members, scholarship donors and fundraising events attendees and prospects.
Implements strategies, goals, and objectives for donor identification and solicitation.
Develops knowledge and proficiency with important software packages (RE NXT, Paciolan, Salesforce, Greater Giving, etc.).
Assists with the recruitment, hiring, and training of professional and OPS staff that assist in carrying out the goals and objectives of the functional area.
Organizes all facets of Athletics hospitality (i.e. tailgates, Hillmyer-Tremont Suite basketball events, Eagles Club Board of Advisors, baseball, softball, etc.), including scheduling and communication with vendors.
Liaisons with FGCU Foundation to maintain “best policies” when dealing with deposits, accounts, recording gifts, etc.
Assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures to ensure effective operations.
Assists in the development of operating budgets, purchasing, and inventory control.
Complies with all University, ASUN or CCSA (Coastal Collegiate Sports Association) regulations, as well as all NCAA rules and regulations. Remains current with all changes in NCAA, as well as changes to University, ASUN and CCSA rules and regulations regarding intercollegiate athletics. This includes the requirement for self-reporting any possible rule violations and participation in the annual NCAA continuing education programs including passing the NCAA certification test, if applicable. Any violation of NCAA rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Assists with special projects as assigned.
Coordinates all content for Eagles Club social media accounts.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
Three years of full-time professional experience in a higher education athletics department related to the position.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications will be considered.
Demonstrated success identifying new funding donor sources.
Experience operating a personal computer and proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles, best practices, trends, and legal constraints of fundraising and gift solicitation within higher education.
Knowledge of or ability to learn important software packages (RE NXT, Paciolan and Salesforce).
Demonstrated skill in planning, developing, and producing events and special projects.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures consistently.
Ability and willingness to assume new responsibilities.
Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved.
Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
