The Opportunity:
As the Event Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Dean's strategic initiatives, with a primary focus on priority and college-level events. You will coordinate and oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience. Working closely with the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) leadership team, you will help bring key priorities to life by delivering well-organized, impactful events that strengthen relationships, elevate the college's visibility, and support overall engagement goals.
In this role, you will coordinate and execute a broad range of college-sponsored events and engagement activities that advance the mission, priorities, and community of the College. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality events that support faculty, staff, students, alumni, external partners, advisory groups, and leadership, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience for all participants.
Events may include, but are not limited to, college receptions, awards and recognition ceremonies, advisory board and stakeholder meetings, town halls, lectures, conferences, and special programs. You will provide comprehensive logistical oversight, manage vendors and budgets, and ensure events align with university policies and college objectives.
Evening, weekend, and occasional travel may be required.
Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate college-level events that support engagement, recognition, communication, and community building.
Serve as a central point of coordination for event logistics, timelines, budgets, and vendors.
Partners with college leadership, faculty, staff, and campus support units to ensure events are aligned with institutional priorities.
Deliver consistently high-quality, inclusive, and well-managed event experience
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,665 to $4,882 | Range 41 Steps A-M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent and four years of progressively responsible work experience involving public contact such as secretarial, sales promotion, setting up conferences, public information, or in the hospitality industry; OR equivalent education/experience.
Experience planning, coordinating, and executing events.
Exceptional customer service and attention to detail.
Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and occasional travel as required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and calendaring systems.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in higher education or a complex organization.
Experience coordinating meetings or events involving senior leaders, advisory groups, or external stakeholders.
Background in hospitality, conference services, or event management.
Familiarity with accessibility best practices and inclusive event design.
